Pastor's Biography

Elder Ezekiel Haines is the eldest of six children born to Walter and Melvie Haines.  He was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of Northeast High School in Philadelphia, PA.  After graduation, he attended Indiana Technical College in Fort Wayne, IN, and while there, decided to enlist in the United States Air Force serving his country from 1986 to 1990. After that active tour of duty, he decided to continue serving as an Air National Guardsman from 1990 to 1994, even with a short call to active duty during the 1990 - 1991 Desert Storm Conflict.

While in the Air Force, Elder Haines was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, which gave him a “conscience towards God”.  In 1990 he began to regularly attend The Greater Highway Church of Christ in Philadelphia, PA under the pastoral ship of the late Bishop Andrew J. Ford, Sr.  In December 1991, God filled Elder Haines with the Holy Ghost which allows him to live a Holy, sanctified, and consecrated life.

In 1993 Elder Haines began preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  In 1994 he was led by the Lord to move south to Florence, SC and to sit under the tutelage of our Founder and Executive Chairman of The Greater Highway Church of Christ (Bishop R. F. Davis).  Under the direction of Bishop Davis, Elder Haines would assist at the different branches of The Greater Highway Church of Christ and he worked diligently helping to build the Works in the South.  In 1998 Elder Haines moved from Florence, SC to Charlotte, NC, and while there, Elder Malachi Haines founded and began to pastor the Upper Room Greater Highway Church of Christ (Marvin, NC), where Elder Ezekiel Haines assisted.  He moved to Fayetteville, NC in 1999 where he assisted Bishop Davis at The Greater Highway Church of Christ there.  In 2003 he moved back to Charlotte, NC where he now resides and began traveling to the various branches of The Greater Highway Church of Christ (Marion, SC; Latta, SC and Rowland, NC) to assist under the direction of Bishop R. F. Davis.

In December of 2008, Elder Haines was asked to help sustain a group of people who wanted a branch of The Greater Highway Church of Christ in the Columbia, SC area.  By the grace of God, Elder Haines and some determined believers have established the Lighthouse Greater Highway Church of Christ, now located at 130 McNulty Street in Blythewood, SC.
