In December of 2008, Elder Haines was asked to help sustain a group of people who wanted a branch of the Greater Highway Church of Christ in the Columbia, SC area.  He immediately began to work by holding his first service at 1314 Leesburg Road in Columbia, SC on a Sunday morning in December 2008.  Attending this first service was:  Minister Jeanette Furnace, Sister Angela Furnace, Brother Jerome Furnace, Brother Curtis Brunson and his wife Sheree, and Brother Maurice. God put his approval on the service, by allowing two souls to be baptized in the name of Jesus immediately following the service.

By the grace of God, Elder Haines and some determined believers have established the Lighthouse Greater Highway Church of Christ, now located at 130 McNulty Street, Blythewood, SC 29016.  We were able to renovate an empty building into a place of worship. As we continue to move forward, God continues to bless us as five more souls were baptized in Jesus name in September 2009 and another soul went down in Jesus name in November 2009.  As the company of men, women, and children grow; and as they come to hear the word of God through the Apostolic Doctrine, we are believing God for many more souls.
